Hi, The best way is to charge it up and when its full, run it on the battery until you get a low battery warning and then charge it again .

Once a month, if you have a CD drive in the laptop, disconnect the power source and RUN music, movies (even if the CD is not DVD), anything that will use the battery. turn EVERYTHING on, don’t turn the video, hard drive to turn off after a time [goto control panel>power options] and don’t put then on a timer>always ON!!. run your hard drive by accessing it to copy from any of your folders to a dummy folder. Back and forth. That will drain the battery. After you do this, then use the CD drive again, until the drive cannot spinn any more.Your laptop will try to shut down, but try it again, until you can’t do it any more. RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY BY PLUGING THE DC POWER IN Wait for the recharge:::: THEN DO IT AGAIN 2 MORE TIMES you will get all the ‘gobbly gooks’ out. p.s. if your battery dies, it was going to happen!
