Where does the Acai berry grow?
The Acai berry grows in a cluster on the Acai Palm, a native palm to tropical Central and South America. The Acai Palm is tall, slim and grows between 15-30 meters high with leaves on the palm growing to about 3 meters long. The prime commercial source of the Acai berry comes from the area where several rivers converge within the Amazon estuary, emptying along the north eastern corner of Brazil in to the Atlantic Ocean between the two states of Para and Amapa. The natives to the area refer to the Acai as the Milk of the Amazon.
