Loss of Libido [posted 11/11/98] Question:Over the last 2 years I have noticed a steady decline in my libido, to such an extent that I no longer have any interest in having sex and if I do, I do not feel any sensations of arousal. I am female and 29 years old. I am sure this is not normal and I am quite concerned about it. I feel slightly embarassed about discussing this problem with my physician. What should my next move be?? Answer: On any medications? If not then you need an endocrine check out. This would include thyroid levels, prolactin levels and possibly estrogen levels. Are your periods regular? You need to find a physician who you can discuss this with without undue embarassment.
