The WX11 was the second wind controller model by Yamaha. It was released in 1988 and is now out of production. The WX11 was usually sold with the companion WT11 FM sound module. It had a scaled down feature set compared to the WX7. The WX11 transmits only breath controller data (MIDI controller #2) in response to how hard you blow, with no possibility of Aftertouch or MIDI Volume messages as found on the WX7. This can present a problem in certain situations, but it can be overcome by feeding the output of the WX11 (via an appropriate WX to MIDI OUT interface such as the WT11, VL70-m, MFC10, or out of production Yamaha BT7) through a MIDI mapper. Possibilities for MIDI mappers include the Midi Solutions Event Processor, the out of production WindTamer (a rackmount unit designed especially for WX11 users that maps CC#2 to CC#7 AND provides some other features), the out of production Anatek Pocket Mapper, various software such as MidiOx, various MIDI sequencers that have mapping capabilit
