Ingres Version: All OS: All Q: How do you define async I/O settings?
There are 3 ways to define the async I/O settings. 1. – The OS does support POSIX threads (eg: Solaris 2.5.1, HP 11.0) async_io set to OFF in CBF ingunset II_NUM_SLAVES ingunset II_THREAD_TYPE Note that this is the optimum setting and definitely the recommended one where possible. 2. – The OS doesn’t support POSIX threads but does support async I/O async_io set to ON in CBF ingunset II_NUM_SLAVES ingsetenv II_THREAD_TYPE internal 3. – The OS doesn’t support POSIX threads nor async I/O async_io set to OFF in CBF ingsetenv II_NUM_SLAVES 2 (or more!!!
