How does a phone recorder work?

0

There are very few limitations on phone recorders. They must be plugged into a wall telephone jack. Keep in mind that this can be any telephone jack on the line you wish to record. Most people want phone recorders that will only record when there is sound on the telephone line, this makes sense of course. This feature is known as ARS–Automated Recording System. When the phone rings or is picked up to dial, the unit will start recording, and will stop when there is silence for roughly 5 seconds, it will then resume recording when sound is detected again. It will continue doing this until either the batteries run out (this can be avoided by using an AC adapter) or the memory is full. Memory will vary depending on the phone recorder you purchase.
