Webgate is a web application protection system (APS) that secures HTTP and SSL connections. Webgate secures web servers by blocking attacks which pass through ordinary firewalls and packet filters. Webgate examines all HTTP and HTTPS commands and permits valid requests while blocking requests that violate the HTTP standard and or use invalid encodings. The administrator may limit which specific HTTP commands are permitted, and can control which clients are allowed access to which servers.
