A. EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) is a diagnostic test consisting of a thin, flexible tube being passed through the patients mouth into the stomach. This allows the physician to directly inspect the lining of the upper gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, and duodenum).
