Is San Miguel de Allende safe?
Common sense while traveling is important everywhere, and San Miguel is no different. Having said that, we can also say that none of our students, nor we ourselves, have ever encountered a threatening or uncomfortable situation regarding personal safety or the safety of possessions. (Bring a sturdy pair of walking shoes however, as the cobblestones can be tricky!) As a historic national monument with many tourists, San Miguel is well policed.
