One may create documents of varied sizes, but, when printing, you should select the standard paper sizes that are in the printer. Students often make the mistake in Quark’s Print Dialog box of selecting a “custom paper” size that reflects the document’s dimensions. Always select the standard paper sizes below which is larger than the document and allows for crop marks. • Letter = 8.5×11 (trays 2 & 3) • Tabloid = 11×17 (tray 4) • Tabloid Extra = 12×18 (tray 1 which is pulled out from the side and paper manually inserted in the tray) (FYI – There may be times, though that students will print on special paper with sizes other than listed above. This paper is inserted into tray 1 and, in Quark’s print dialog box, select the custom paper size that reflects the actual dimensions of the paper.
