http://bochs.sourceforge.net. • How do I install bochs on my own machine? This differs quite a bit from platform to platform. On Windows, you have the option of downloading a .EXE installer for bochs, which you can find on the resources page. If you are running Linux, you will likely be able to find some form of binary or source release bundled for your favored package manager. Mac OS X users can similarly download source or binary packages. Whatever route you choose to go, be sure to get/compile a bochs with debugging support built in, or you’ll be missing out on a lot it has to offer (and much of what we’ll need in the labs). Folks that go the source route may find the following configuration options useful (you may have to tweak them depending on your platform and what libraries, particularly for supporting display mechanisms, you have installed): ./configure –enable-debugger \ –enable-disasm \ –enable-all-optimizations \ –enable-cpu-level=6 \ –enable-new-pit \ –enable-pae \ –
