Why Clintonville Incorporated?
In the late 90s the city of Columbus had its Planning Division look at some of the neighborhoods outside of downtown to assess their strengths and weaknesses. While Clintonville has been known for its pleasant and well-kept residential neighborhoods, it was obvious that the business corridors both on High Street and on Indianola needed help. The city saw what you see every day: deteriorating sidewalks, speeding cars, minimal lighting. The city then funded its first Clintonville study called “North High Street Corridor-Clintonville: Market Study and Action Plan.” The final recommendation was that a grass-roots effort be put together to direct revitalization efforts.
