Who are the sub-committee staff?
Many people contribute to the effective operation of a sub-committee. The principal staff of a sub-committee include the Clerk and the research staff. The Clerk of a sub-committee is the procedural adviser and administrative officer to both the Chair and the committee. The Clerk performs his or her duties and responsibilities in constant consultation with the Chair. As a non-partisan and independent officer of the committee, the Clerk serves all members of the committee and representatives of all parties equally. The Parliamentary Research Branch (part of the Library of Parliament) provides one or more researchers to each committee.
