What is Kyphoplasty?
A minimally invasive procedure used for treating spinal fractures. Performed as a day surgery, it involves inserting and inflating a special balloon into the spinal fracture. After restoring disc height, the balloon is removed and the cavity is filled with a cement-like material. This stabilizes the fracture and many patients begin to feel immediate relief from pain. Kyphoplasty can also help patients with primary and secondary osteoporosis and multiple myeloma.
