What is the Global Address Look-Up (GAL) function?
The Global Address Lookup (GAL) enables you to search contacts from your company server remotely to find email addresses. The Global Address Lookup is supported by BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service) that is used with corporate e-mails but is not a feature of BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service). The e-mail address search settings can be defined in your device BlackBerry setting to search from local device contacts, remote server contacts or from both. To use the Global Address Lookup (GAL) function: • Start composing BlackBerry Connect email. • With the cursor in the To:, Cc: or Bcc: address field, select Options ? Company Directory. • Enter a name or part of a name and select OK. A list of the first 20 matches will display. • Select the match(es) you want and then select Options > Add Recipient(s). • To get more names, select Options ?
