What science activities are available aboard the MSL’s?
Click here to see a complete listing of activities available. The mobile lab has at least 11 lab stations with computers at each station. In addition, 10 laptop computers are available for use in classrooms. Students can perform a wide variety of lab activities in biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science at the high school level. In addition, numerous lab activities are available for students in grades 5 through 8. Vernier Lab Pro equipment is used for real-time measurement and graphing of a wide range of data. DNA electrophoresis equipment provides for investigations in molecular biology. Oil-immersion microscopes, GPS units, spectrophotometers, spectroscopes, radiation monitors, and lots of other equipment make it possible for students and teachers to do hands-on investigations that are not possible in most schools.
