What can the SAGE engine do?

0

What can’t it do? The SAGE engine is a fully interactive engine built specifically for the next generation of C&C RTS games. The engine supports a variety of terrain, including urban cityscapes, rugged deserts and frozen wastelands. Generals is trying to be as realistic as possible in the game and, using the SAGE engine, is trying to make everything destructible. The engine is also able to simulate wounded infantry on the battlefield as well as tanks rolling over cars and all the mayhem it causes (crushed wrecks, car alarms etc.). The engine also simulates realistic physics. For example you can see a buggy speeding up a hill and when it gets to the top of it, instead of just rolling down on the other side, it will actually rise to the virtual air for a few moments. Another feature the engine allows is the enhanced garrisoning. You can now garrison any and all units in a building. Not only that, but you can have your troops storm enemy garrisoned buildings as well.
