What can a company like Sigil do?
We can look at heuristic economic modelling… that’s one thing we intend to do. We can see when the economy begins to move at a rate faster than we intend and look at causes. We can identify trends and isolate the individuals that are causing those trends. We can ban the Johns. I know that’s a difficult approach and will be largely unpopular. Everyone cheers for this idea until it’s their friend, their guild’s cleric or more common than you’d believe, their treasurer. We can be public about those that we terminate. Not sure that we would actually do this beyond the actual number due to privacy concerns and the lawyers that would descend upon us, but that would likely be a deterrent. We can require validation. However, as a company, the higher the barrier to entry, the harder it is for us to gain customers and to retain them. There’s a tolerance level here and we have to weigh it carefully.
