HOW ARE SELECTIONS CONSIDERED?
All applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of hire and provide proof of U.S. citizenship. The Sawtooth expects a high level of physical fitness. (The job demands it, as well as the safety of the individual and crew.) All employees must pass the “Pack Test” before the start of the fire season. This involves a 3-mile hike with a 45-pound pack, completed within 45 minutes. It is recommended that personnel be able to perform 7 pull-ups, 25 push-ups, and 45 sit-ups.
