I tried simple FTP from AS400 machine to my desktop. GET LIB/FILE1 C:\FILE_ON_PC The FILE1 was a strucured PF – i.e. having some char and some numeric fields. The result is always illegible characters. I have tried FTP with ASCII as well as Binary. I even tried the tool CuteFTP – all to no avail.
