Are ATVs or motorcycles allowed?
Unfortunately, the park is not open to ATV’s or motorcycles, but was in our original considerations. As we worked through the grant to help provide this park, we were under restrictions and considerations that led to the elimination of these from being allowed. First, the grant provided for a multi use park (motorized and non-motorized). The two considerations were to go with faster moving traffic or slower moving traffic, but not both unless we have 350 plus acres and can divide the different sports into sectors having safety and liability as our main concerns. Also included in our decision was the fact we were unable to purchase the land for this park outright. We are under a long term lease with the land owner and have had to work with them about the intended usages for the park. We have just completed another grant proposal and application for 2004 that may enable us to expand the current park by as much as 320 acres.
