How is an EPC Calculated?
For an assessment to be made a visit to the property is required – except for new build which is calculated from plans. At that visit our Assessors will need to conduct a full survey of the property and will be recording specific details to input into our unique software used to calculate the energy rating. The detail required will include: • The age of the property • The floor area • The length of the external heat loss perimeter walls • The thickness of the walls • Cavity wall insulation and type • Roofspace insulation and depth • Make, model and age of central heating boiler • Type of central heating boiler and flue • Method of heat radiation (radiators, under floor etc.
