Whats unique about the Tarkine?
The Tarkine region is made up of 380,000 hectares of raw wildness, far from the beaten tourist trail. This vast natural landscape provides an experience unlike any other in Tasmania. Visitors are immersed in diverse and pristine ecosystems, unchanged for thousands, even millions, of years. Ancient rainforests, dramatic mountain ranges and stunning coastal scenery roll on as far as the eye can see. Abundant, pure water gushes from myriad rivers through rainforest, over wild coastlines and into the Southern Ocean. However, very few visitors make it to this area, amplifying its interest for those people wishing to experience wildness untouched by mass tourism. Whilst on our Tarkine walks, we can almost guarantee you will see no other people. This is a truly unique experience in an ever crowded world. The Tarkine is truly the path less traveled!
