The .NET Framework 3.0 is a core component of the Windows Vista operating system, and is installed by default. This new set of managed interfaces represents an incremental release of the managed interfaces found in the .NET Framework 2.0, because there are no changes to the version of the .NET Framework 2.0 components with the .NET Framework 3.0.
