scabbed leg from sunburnt

If you picked at the scab, then the scars that you have from the sunburn will last longer. Consider this a lesson and don’t ever pick at scabs. Let the scabs naturally flake off once the skin underneath is healed.

However, do not fret because there are measures you can take to decrease the appearance of the scar. It is not necessary to exfoliate your skin where the scar is everyday. In fact, this might aggravate the healing process and slow it down. Instead, use vitamin E with cocoa butter and rub it on the scar daily to help accelerate the healing process. These two things will help smooth and fade scars. I also highly recommend silicone pad treatments which you can purchase at any pharmacy – just make sure to follow the instructions precisely to get the best results.

Depending on your skin type and tone, the visibility of the scar will take up to a year and perhaps more to fade away. Most times it won’t fade away completely, however it will be difficult to notice.
