What specifications are part of XRI 2.0?
Two XRI 2.0 specifications have been submitted for an OASIS Standard vote in May 2008: • XRI Syntax 2.0 defines the syntax, relative reference rules, normalization/comparison rules, and IRI/URI transformation rules. • XRI Resolution 2.0 defines a simple XML discovery document format called XRDS together a lightweight HTTP(S) resolution protocol. It also defines a trusted version based on signed SAML 2.0 assertions. A third Committee Draft specification, XRI Metadata 2.0, defines a small set of globally interoperable XRIs that may be used as cross-references within other XRIs to “markup” an identifier, including its language, date, or version.
