Overage?

I have gotten overage with coupons on certain occasions. This is how their computers work. Let’s say an item is 1.49 regular price. You have a 1/1 coupon. The coupon will scan at 1.00 and double .49. No overage. But, Let’s say that same item goes on sale for .99. When the computer scans your coupon, for some reason it still is thinking the item is regular price (I think it has something to do with using the card, but not sure and certainly am not going to alert them to the issue) and therefore the coupon scans at 1.00 and then doubles .49 = .50 overage for you. I always try to figure what is going to give me overage so I don’t go negative (yes, I have once and the only thing they did was laugh and give me the .38 – but next time I might not be that lucky!
