How much did Rodney weigh?
I’m not sure, but Mojo Nixon used to tease us about our short size. Hey – all of us are taller than the artist formerly known as Prince though. We played a show in Minneapolis way back in the 7th street Entry, which is a smaller club off of the main large club known as The 1st Avenue. All night, the staff was saying that Prince was in the building (he used to hang out in the big club – it’s the one that you can see in the Purple Rain movie). We all thought that they were kidding. During the last song of the night by the headlining band on our show (Ring Theatre – one of the worst bands we’ve ever played with), Prince and Sheila E walked into the room and Ring Theatre gave them their drums and bass to play a song with. Sheila and the “Purple One” jammed for a few minutes and then disappeared. Very strange.
