How large is ARCs data sample?
ARC reports 100% of the traffic documents that are processed through the ARC settlement system. The percentage of an airports overall traffic will vary depending on the carriers offering service from that airport and their level of participation with ARC. However, based on a comparison of ARC tickets to FAA reported enplanements, our analysis shows that ARC data significantly exceeds the DB1B 10% sample for approximately 90% of the primary commercial service airports in the U.S. For more than 60% of these airports, the ARC volume exceeds 50% of total reported traffic.
