How to set a goose decoy spread?
Whoa SKip, thanks for the faux gras recipe but I’ll stick to the real stuff, and this is how I get em. There are many different patterns to use, I assume you are looking at a field spread. I like to set up two clusters of decoys with about a 20 to 30 yard gap in between. On the upwind side of the gap loosly scatter a few decoys to connect the clusters. It will kind of look like a horse shoe. If you have a ground blind set it up amongst these decoys, or get good and “camoed” and lie on the ground. The incoming geese will almost always approach into the wind and they will aim for the empty space in between the cluster, so make sure you sit with your back to the wind. Good luck, maybe you can modify that recipe.
