What does ZoOmega-3 mean?
ZoOmega is a combination of two words: zoology, which is the biological discipline that involves the study of non-human animals (ncluding fish) and Omega-3, which is a family of polyunsaturated fatty acids – the important ones being alpha-linolenic-acid (ALA) from plants and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are downstream metabolites of plant-based ALA. Both EPA and DHA are more readily available from fish than from plant-based Omega-3s – including flax seed oil.
