What NPfIT areas are being evaluated?
A. Given the range of activities that fall under the remit of NHS CFH, there is an almost inexhaustible array of topics and initiatives that could profitably be evaluated. From an extensive list of possible evaluations, a number of NPfIT elements have been selected and endorsed for independent evaluation. These include: • an evaluation of the Summary Care Record ‘’early Adopter’ programme, • an evaluation of the Electronic Prescription Service in Primary Care, • an evaluation of the pilot implementation of an IT specification for a blood tracking system, and • an evaluation of the effect of IT on interactions between healthcare workers and patients.
