Okay as long as you are downloading roms for MAME, you are not going to edit them at all. You say you are trying to play MS3 There are two types Metal Slug 3 and Metal Slug 3 (encrypted) For Metal Slug 3 the rom’s name is mslug3.zip in this zip file there are 27 files: 256-m1.bin sm1.sm1 sfix.sfix 256-p1.bin 256-p2.bin 256-sma.bin asia-s3.rom sp-e.sp1 sp-j2.rom sp-s.sp1 sp-s2.sp1 sp1.jipan.1024 usa_2slt.bin vs-bios.rom 256-c1.bin 256-c2.bin 256-c3.bin 256-c4.bin 256-c5.bin 256-c6.bin 256-c7.bin 256-c8.bin 256-v1.bin 256-v2.bin 256-v3.bin 256-v4.bin 000-lo.lo KEEP THE ROM ZIPPED AND PLACED IN YOUR ROMS FOLDER!! The files you are missing are from what is known as a BIOS file. Bios files are like emulators for specific manufactures that MAMA uses to emulate some games. For MS you need the NEOGEO bios file. It is treated just like a rom file. KEEP IT ZIPPED, AND PLACE IN YOUR ROMS FOLDER. Search fo NEOGEO where ever you get your roms.
