Is EST a big time committment?
In many ways, yes. Once on the team, you will train for 15-20 hours in the first several weeks become CPR/Standard First Aid certified. In addition, all medics attened a mandatory meeting each Sunday at 8:30pm. If you cannot make this meeting, you should not apply. Finally, anticipate taking 4-8 hours of duty time each week to at the start. Keep in mind, though, that while on duty you may do homework in your room (if on campus), eat, or even sleep.
