What is the culture like at UBS?
It’s a little less arrogant than at some other investment banks. UBS is also entrepreneurial, encouraging all levels of employees to offer ideas or suggestions on how to win business from our competitors and how to advise our clients. We’re also global. There are a lot of international people in the organization, and we work with MBAs to make sure they get the right global opportunities. Q: Is it important for students to have studied abroad or done international consulting projects? A: We don’t require that, but we see it as a plus. We look for people who are well-rounded, so if someone tells me that he or she just came back from an educational trip in South America or a project in Africa, that may tell me this person is a team player. Q: What types of previous work experience do you look upon favorably? A: We generally like people to have around two to five years of previous experience. However, we are open to career changers.
