Can Excel 2k3 do fuzzy logic?

I am wondering if excel could do fuzzy logic comparisons. Here is my problem. I have an audit report from an electronic medical record system where I’m trying to compare the care provider name with the patient name. If the names are similar enough I’d like excel to the row to a match found sheet and ignore the one where there there are clear differences. Example1: Smith F Robert (care giver name) Smith Frank Robert (patient name) Example2: Johnson MD Scott (care giver name) Johnson Scott (patient name) Example3: Hanson James RN (care giver name) Hanson James (patient name) In all 3 examples above these would get copied to a sheet or workbook as a potential match Example4: Smith F Robert (care giver name) Smith Tamera (patient name) Example5: Johnson MD Scott (care giver name) Johnson James (patient name) In example 4 and 5 those would get ignored. Don’t know if this is possible?!
