USA Road Trip – where should we go?
It all depends on what you like. I live in CA and I absolutely love going to OR and WA. If you go through OR at all Ashland is a great cute small town, but then again you can’t go wrong with visiting portland. If going through WA you need to visit seatle and then possibly take a fairy ride to Canada, both great trips. If you stay in southern CA, as I assume you would seeing as how everyone traveling goes there, maybe even take a trip to mexico, can’t beat some of the beaches down there. But if you are on the west coast for a only a month or so, I would stay in CA and travel the entire coast from San Diego travel 101 all the way up to Fort Bragg, one of the greatest trips every.
Definitely see Grand Canyon in Arizona. http://www.nps.gov/archive/grca/grandcan… Rent your apartment in Hollywood or West Hollywood or Burbank and you will be in the middle of all the Los Angeles attractions – Universal Studios, Hollywood Blvd, La Brea Tar Pit, The Getty Museum, The Griffith Observatory. Eat and shop on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. Check out Barney’s Beanery in Hollywood for the largest selection of beers on the planet. Go to Gorky’s Russian Cafe and Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles during the day, but do not go to downtown LA during the night and do not rent your apartment downtown. Malibu Beach, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm are each a few hours drive from Hollywood. Take an 8 hour road trip up to San Francisco and spend a day exploring and riding cable cars. San Francisco has a subway called BART that you can catch from cheaper hotel areas.
