It is an associates of applied science degree (AAS) which is a very career oriented program of study particular to a field. The associates degree is typically a two year program of study, provided the student is full-time and takes the program as prescribed by the college. Once the student finishes the dental hygiene program and passes the approiate tests, they are registered, certified, and have an x-ray license.
