Who Was Peter Pan?
Peter Pan was invented by JM Barrie, in the book The Little White Bird, published in 1902. Pan is from the small island of Neverland and is the leader of the band of Lost Boys. Together with his gang, Peter Pan has adventures with mermaids, fairies, Indians and the infamous pirate, Captain Hook. What Does the Peter Pan Costume Look Like? Most people think of Peter Pan in green tights, green or brown tunic, brown belt and shoes, and a green hat with a red feather. Why? Because that’s what most of the movie and stage play Peter Pans wore. But, Peter Pan’s inventor hints at a more interesting costume, more like the one Jeremy Sumpter wore in his movie role as Peter Pan. In the book, Barrie dressed him in “skeleton leaves and the juices that flow from trees.” Jeremy Sumpter wore what I can best describe as short overalls made of leaves.
