What is the cost of icsi?
We completed an ICSI cycle back in June/ july of this year with an approximate cost of $5, 200 AU. We recovered 80% of out of pocket expenses through medicare though, so it only ended up costing us just over $1,000 AU by the end. As far as the treatment itself, it is a hectic few months, but very worth it. You start with the contraceptive pill for 3 – 5 weeks, followed by a nasal spray called synarol morning and night for a month. This puts you in menopause type state. Then the dreaded injections start, but they really aren’t that bad. One a night for 12 nights. This is to stimulate you to produce a lot of eggs. You will have many blood tests and scans during all this process to make sure your levels of hormones suitable and you are responding to the drugs. Then if all goes well, you will have egg pick up.
