How does NO2 Breakdown Help?
The only place where these conditions are met is within the engine. The breakdown results in a higher concentration of oxygen than what is naturally found within the atmosphere, (NO2 consists of almost 70 % O2 by mass, the atmosphere contains only 23 % ) NO2 is also 50 % more dense than air so a larger amount can fit within the engine. This results in a highly oxygen rich mixture.
