Intellectual Property: Who owns the code?
• Do we own the finished code of our system? What you will have is a non-transferable, indefinite license for your own organization’s use of the system for its stated purpose. This is essentially as much freedom to do with it what you will, except that we do expressly forbid any organization to replicate our technology for any purpose. We must necessarily retain ownership to enforce this. We employ a formidable library of code we call “The Framework” which allows us to deliver systems quicker and more economically to you. This code library has been the exclusive inhouse development project at Castle Zeek for nearly a decade that has given us the ability to bring you the robustness of large scale IT into a range of affordability for SMBs. Castle Zeek owns this library. Please consider that If a prior client had insisted they should own it (and we had “given it all up”) then it would no longer be ours to leverage for the benefit of our next client: YOU.
