How long after using weed killer can i lay turf?
If you use weedol, (paraquat) or a different contact weedkiller, it will do no good. You might as well lay the turf straight on top of the weeds, as that will kill them if weedol does. For turf, you need to kill the persistent weeds that would otherwise come through. Docks, dandelions, nettles, ground elder etc etc. So roundup or non branded glyphosate is the best thing. Roundup needs to be absorbed into the plant to translocate to the roots, so how long you leave it depends on the amount of weed vegetation there is. If you need to get rid of the weed cover because it is 3 feet high, then I would spray it and leave for a week, then cut it back as short as you can before turfing. If there are dips etc, you can level them with a little soil so you have a flat surface. Dont be tempted to dig it all up, as you will then only have to tread it down to compact it and make a flat surface.
