What is ‘Economy 10’ tariff ?

0

‘Economy 10’ is a fairly new tariff created in 2004 and is a mixed daytime tariff designed for electric heating systems by Scottish & Southern Energy, it is used to promote the lower cost daytime use of electrical appliances. The structure of the 10 off-peak hours is generally as follows; – 3 hours in the afternoon (1pm – 4pm) – 2 hours in the evening (8pm – 10pm) – 5 hours over night (Midnight – 5am) All other periods are at a daytime on-peak rate. If you are familiar with Economy 7 then you will know that it’s a night-time tariff designed for night storage heaters. The E10 meter change is free-of-charge and is available throughout the UK regardless of where you live. Please Note. This tariff can only be obtained by calling the number below. Do not try to call Powergen, Npower, E.on or your local supplier, they do provide E10 but it’s different and it’s not the correct tariff!
