How important is the use of an ESD protecting kit while working out in the field?
This is most important. You will be handling electronic PBA off some equipment in a customer premises of which you do not know anything about their ESD local control, ambient parameters, etc… You can be exposed to high static generating materials (ESC) in furniture or carpets, your little working environment must be ESD preventive and reliable, this is provided by a proper ESD field kit.
