What powers does a conservator have?
Without a Court Order, a conservator may, 1. Collect, receive and receipt for any property or income of the ward, including Social Security and Veteran’s Benefits. 2. Sell or transfer perishable personal property or personal property having an established market value. 3. Vote at all corporate meetings. 4. Receive additional property from any source. 5. Continue to hold any investment or property originally received, pending the First Annual Report. After obtaining a Court Order, a conservator may, 1. Invest and reinvest the funds of the ward. 2. Purchase, sell, lease or mortgage real estate. 3. Make payments to the ward or to others for the benefit of the ward. 4. Apply any income or property to the support of any person for whose support the ward is legally liable. 5. Compromise or settle any claim in favor of or against the ward. 6.
