Kangaroos have sex pretty much the same way humans do. The fertilised egg begins to grow inside the womb, but is born at a very early stage of development, whilst basically still embryonic. It then crawls up the mother’s belly to her pouch, climbs in, and completes its development there, gaining its nutrition from milk which varies in its composition as the joey grows.
