What is the GRE CS Subject test?
The GRE CS Subject test is a test developed by the Educational Testing Service to test for undergraduate background in computer science. You can find a sample test at ftp://ftp.ets.org/pub/gre/CompSci.pdf. Unlike the GRE General test, the subject tests are only administered 3 times per year: in April, November, and December. Because of the late reporting you should take the exam no later than the April before the semester you are planning to enter the MSCS program. In some countries, the test is offered less frequently. Also, some test centers “sell out” early. You should register for the test well in advance (see http://www.gre.org/testdate.html#subdate ).
