Why no Corn, Soy, Wheat or Gluten?
These grains (many times genetically-modified and highly addictive) are used as cheap fillers, and are considered the source of most food allergies in pets. They are used to create visual bulk (to satisfy humans) and a feeling of fullness, while containing little of the nutrition carnivores require. Soy and corn are especially difficult for carnivores to digest. Senior and Weight Management Blends: Be sure to read the labels. Most commercial foods simply add more grains (corn, wheat or soy) and send the animal in the wrong direction. Most animals fed these products don’t actually lose weight – they gain even more, while starving for nutrients they need. Consider a Rotation Diet consisting of a variety of foods – from raw and home-cooked, to dry and canned – for the best variety in protein sources, minerals, & nutrients… and fun for your animal!
