Victoria and Albert were first cousins. Their Uncle Leopold of Belgium thought that they would make a good couple and set up a meeting between the two in England when they were teenagers. They did not really get along all that well, but three years later when Albert and his brother came back he had changed and Victoria proposed to him and soon after they got married.
